According to Saudi scholar Salih bin Abdullah al Humaid, Quranic exegesis (tafsir) states that Israfil will blow the trumpet two times. The first blow will kill all creatures and creations. Later, Israfil will blow the trumpet for the second time, and then all creatures will be revived and wait for judgment.
This view is based on verse 68 of Surah Az-Zumar as well as other narrations.
And some other Quranic verses inform us about it. Allah states the following verses about Qiyamah:
With the first blast of sound from the trumpet the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together On that day, the inevitable event will take plac and the heavens will be rent asunder and will turn frail, losing all force… [Quran 69 : 13 - 17]
The Trumpet will be blown and all those in the heavens and all those on the earth will fall dead, except those Allah wills ˹to spare˺... [Quran 39:68]
The Trumpet will be blown ˹a second time˺, then—behold!—they will rush from the graves to their Lord. [Quran 36:51]
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
Between the two blowings of the trumpet (there would be an interval of forty). They said: Abu Huraira, do you mean forty days? He said: I cannot say anything. They said: Do you mean forty months? He said: I cannot say anything. They said: Do you mean forty years? He said: I cannot say anything. Then Allah would cause the water to, descend from the sky and they (people) will sprout like vegetable. The only thing in a man which would not decay would be one bone (the tailbone) from which the whole frame would be reconstituted on the Day of Resurrection.
[Sahih Muslim 2955a]
Disbelievers argue about rising again after death.
Allah SWT said in the Quran:
..."You will (all) be raised up after death,"... [Quran 11:7]
Surely We will give new life to the dead... [Quran 36 : 12]
...souls will be joined (with their bodies) (Quran 81:7)
They say, "Are we to be restored to the original condition"?
After we have turned into decayed bones?
[Quran 79 : 10 - 11]
The disbelievers say ˹mockingly to one another˺, “Shall we show you a man who claims that when you have been utterly disintegrated you will be raised as a new creation?
[Quran 34 :7]
The disbelievers of Makkah argue about humans rising again after death. How can it be possible that the people who died hundreds of thousands of years ago, whose bodies have disintegrated into particles and mixed in the dust, whose bones decayed and were scattered away by the winds, some of whom were burnt to ashes, others devoured by the beasts of prey, and still others drowned in the seas and swallowed by fish, the material constituents of their bodies should reassemble and every man should rise up as the same person that he once was ten or twenty thousand years before? Allah has given its very rational and highly forceful reply in the form of this brief question:
Does the human being think that We will not reassemble his bones?
Yes indeed. We are able even to reshape his fingertips.
(Quran 75 : 3 - 4)
That is, not to speak of building up your skeleton once again by gathering together the major bones? We are able to make whole the most delicate parts of your body, even your finger tips, as they used to be before.
And in a few other verses of the Quran, Allah SWT said about the recreation of mankind.
And man (the disbeliever) says: "When I am dead, shall I then be raised up alive?". Does not man remember that We created him before, while he was nothing? (Quran 19:66-67)
He it is Who creates for the first time and He it is Who will create again, (Quran 85:13)
... Your Lord says, It is easy for Me for I created you when you were nothing before. (Quran 19:9)
Nothing is difficult for Allah; everything is easy for Him.
How people will be recreated on the day of Resurrection.
On the day of judgment, you will be recreated with coccyx bone.
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
The earth would consume all of the son of Adam except his tailbone. From it he was created, and from it he will be recreated (on the Day of Resurrection).
[Sahih Muslim 2955b]
...The Prophet added: 'Everything of the human body will perish except the last coccyx bone (end part of the spinal cord), and from that bone Allah will reconstruct the whole body. Then Allah will send down water from the sky and people will grow like green vegetables'."
[Al- Bukhari and Muslim].
[Riyad as-Salihin 1836]
And among His Signs (in this), that you see the earth barren, but when We send down water (rain) to it, it is stirred to life and growth (of vegetations). Verily, He Who gives it life, surely is Able to give life to the dead (on the Day of Resurrection). Indeed! He is Able to do all things. (Quran 41:39)
Just look at the traces of Allah’s Mercy! How He gives life to the earth after its death. Surely the same way He will give life to the dead; for He has power over all things. (Quran 30:50)
Day Of Judgment
..."You will (all) be raised up after death,"...
[Quran 11:7]
Surely We will give new life to the dead...
[Quran 36 : 12]
Indeed, one day you will appear before Allah SWT (the creator), and you will answer for your deeds.
Those who followed God's guidance will be rewarded with paradise; those who rejected God's guidance will be punished with hell.
What will happen on the Day of Judgment?
The Trumpet will be blown and all those in the heavens and all those on the earth will fall dead, except those Allah wills ˹to spare˺. Then it will be blown again and they will rise up at once, looking on ˹in anticipation˺.
[Quran 39:68]
...souls will be joined (with their bodies) (Quran 81:7)
And the true promise (Day of Resurrection) shall draw near (of fulfillment). Then (when mankind is resurrected from their graves), you shall see the eyes of the disbelievers fixedly staring in horror. (They will say): "Woe to us! We were indeed heedless of this; nay, but we were Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers)."
(Quran 21 : 97)
All bodies will be resurrected, and all persons are called to account for their deeds and their faith during their life on earth.
The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds. [Quran 83 : 6]
Every soul will be (held) to account for its deeds. [Quran 74:38]
So, whoever has done an atom's weight of good deeds will see it
and whoever has done an atom's weight of evil will see it.
(Quran 99 : 7 - 8)
But how ˹horrible˺ will it be when We gather them together on the Day about which there is no doubt—when every soul will be paid in full for what it has done, and none will be wronged! (Quran 3 :25)
On the Day when every human being will find himself faced with all the good that he has done, and with all the evil that he has done… [Quran 3:30]
Indeed, Allah does not do injustice, [even] as much as an atom's weight...
[Quran 4:40]
And every thing they have done is recorded in the books (of deeds)
And every thing, small and big, is written down
[Quran 54 : 52 - 53]
And the record ˹of deeds˺ will be laid ˹open˺, and you will see the wicked in fear of what is ˹written˺ in it. They will cry, “Woe to us! What kind of record is this that does not leave any sin, small or large, unlisted?” They will find whatever they did present ˹before them˺. And your Lord will never wrong anyone. [Quran 18:49]
And everything (from their deeds) is thoroughly recorded by Us in writing. [Quran 78:29]
On that day, people will say.
...“I wish that I had not been given my record (of deeds)
[Quran 69:25]
..."I wish that I were dust!"
[Quran 78 : 40]
That Day shall a man flee from his brother, And from his mother and his father, And from his wife and his children. (Qur'an 80 : 34 - 36)
Everyone will cry. Nafsi Nafsi”. (Myself myself).
No one will belong to anyone on the day of judgment, but this series has already started in this world.
Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another.
[Quran 53:38]
Close friends will be enemies to one another on that Day, except the righteous, [Quran 43:67]
On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" (Qur’an 75 : 10)
When they are dragged into Hell-Fire, many people will instantly regret the choices they made in their lives and will beg for another chance. The Quran warns such people:
If only you could see when they will be detained before the Fire! They will cry, “Oh! If only we could be sent back, we would never deny the signs of our Lord and we would ˹surely˺ be of the believers.” [Quran 6:27]
If only you could see the wicked hanging their heads ˹in shame˺ before their Lord, ˹crying:˺ “Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back and we will do good. We truly have sure faith ˹now˺!” [Quran 32:12]
When their eyes will turn towards the residents of Hell, they will pray, “Our Lord! Do not join us with the wrongdoing people.” [Quran 7 : 47]
No, he will be thrown into the Crusher! And what can explain to you what the Crusher is? Allah’s blazing Fire, which rises over their hearts. [Quran 104 : 4 - 7]
They will wish to come out of the fire, but they will not come out of it. It will be an everlasting punishment. [Quran 5 : 37]
The Fire will sear their faces, distorting them horribly and painfully. [Quran 23 : 104]
and when they are thrown, shackled together, into a narrow place therein, they will pray for death.
[Quran 25 - 13]
...Those who deny the truth will have garments of fire cut out for them; and boiling water will be poured down over their heads
anything in their stomachs as well as their skins will be melted by it
There will be maces of iron for them
whenever, in their anguish they seek to escape from Hell, they will be driven back into it, and they will be told, Taste the punishment of Hell.
[Quran 22 : 19 - 20]
Today, they are seeing what they used to deny.
And whoever comes with the bad deed, their faces will be cast in Hell. Are you not being rewarded for what you used to do.
[Quran 27 : 90]
This is ˹the reward˺ for what your hands have done. And Allah is never unjust to ˹His˺ servants.”
[Quran 3:182]
They will cry, “I wish I had sent forth ˹something good˺ for my ˹true˺ life.” [Quran 89:24]
These people love the present life, and leave behind a Heavy Day. (Qur’an 76 : 27)
However, sobbing at such a moment will not help.
Surely, Allah does not wrong people at all, but the people do wrong their own selves. [Quran 10 : 44]
The pious will surely be in heaven, The wicked certainly in Hell: (Qur’an 82 : 13 - 14)
Indeed, the righteous will be in a secure place. [Quran 44:51]
...those who obey Allah and His Messenger will be admitted to paradise, in which rivers flow, to live therein forever, and that is the Great Achievement. [Quran 4:13]
˹Allah will say to the righteous,˺ “O tranquil soul!
Return to your Lord, well pleased ˹with Him˺ and well pleasing ˹to Him˺.
So join My servants,
and enter My Paradise.”
(Quran 89 : 27 - 30)
Indeed, the righteous will be amid Gardens and springs, ˹joyfully˺ receiving what their Lord will grant them. Before this ˹reward˺ they were truly good-doers ˹in the world˺: (Qur'an 51 : 15 - 16)
They will have whatever they desire with their Lord. That is the reward of the good-doers. (Qur'an 39 : 34)
And your Lord is sure to give you [so much], and you will be satisfied. [Quran 93 : 5]
And know about the people of Hell.
Whoever disobeys God and His Messenger and breaks His rules will be admitted to the fire wherein they will live forever, suffering a humiliating torment. [Quran 4:14]
And whoever comes with the bad deed, their faces will be cast in Hell. Are you not being rewarded for what you used to do. [Quran 27 : 90]
Surely Jahannam (the Hell) lurks in ambush. (It is) abode for the rebellious people who will be abiding in it for ages. They will taste nothing cool in it, nor a drink, except boiling water and pus, this being a punishment, fully commensurate (with their deeds). (Qur’an 78 : 21 - 26)
When [Hell] sees them from a distance, they will hear its fury and roaring, and when they are thrown, shackled together, into a narrow place therein, they will pray for death. (Qur'an 25 :12 - 13)
The Hell is pursuing him, and he shall be made to drink pus-fluid, which he will arduously sip, and will not be able to swallow. Death will come upon him from every side, yet he will not die, and still a heavy chastisement will be ahead of him. (Qur'an 14 : 16 - 17)
...Every person is paid for what he did. [Quran 52 : 21]
...so, whoever has been kept away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has really succeeded... (Quran 3 : 185)
O Allah, please save us from the punishment of hell and make us among those who will enter paradise without reckoning. Aameen Yaa Rabb Al’Aalameen.
Qiyamah is near; turn back to Allah.
˹The time of˺ people’s judgment has drawn near, yet they are heedlessly turning away. [Quran 21:1]
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“I and the Hour have been sent like these two,” and he held up his two fingers together.
[Sunan Ibn Majah 4040]
They see it (Day of Judgment) to be far-off but We see it quite near. (Quran 70 : 6 - 7)
